Dear Editor, I am truly inspired by all the athletic talent in Airdrie.

Dear editor, Now that Airdrie has three aldermen that are not seeking re-election and three who are, we will have what looks like an interesting September and October of campaigning.

Dear editor, Most Airdrie residents are unaware of the major increases in local property taxes planned for the coming years. After a “small” tax increase of 3.97 per cent in 2010, local residents are looking at increases of 12 per cent in 2011 and 7.

Dear editor, The untendered purchase of 65 F-35 fighter jets is a waste of potentially $16 billion tax dollars, about $550 for each Canadian citizen. The F-35’s deficiencies are many.
