“We are pleased to announce that the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted and that our water is safe for normal use," stated the Town's CAO, Doug Hafichuk, in a statement.

All three councils have passed motions confirming their interest in such an arrangement, and have directed their respective CAOs to pursue negotiations.

Irricana residents, the mayor, and staff from the municipal government are condemning the recent use of snowmobiles in the local cemetery, calling the act highly disrespectful and insulting to the families whose loved ones are laid to rest there.

A valve failure in Irricana’s water system led to localized flooding in several homes in the town last Tuesday.

Alberta Health Services is calling the measure “precautionary” due to the the depressurization of the Irricana water distribution system, and is in effect until the safety of the water can be assured.

“When you stop at that stop sign, it’s actually blocking the view of people driving north going to the landfill site or to the farms and Pioneer Acres.”

The survey has been live throughout the month of February and Hafichuk said the Town is hoping to get 100 to 200 respondents in total.  

Welch's granddaughter Pauline “Polly” Sink said she hopes the mural will help spark some interest among the younger generation in her grandfather’s work and inspire others with his sensitive, yet tenacious spirit.  

She said the society wanted the Irricana Kindergarteners to see their local heroes presented in the calendar. 

Mayor Jim Bryson of Irricana said he is hoping the Town will be putting a turbulent year behind it, and everyone in the community will put their best foot forward in 2023.
