Irricana’s 4-H Beef and Multi Club, a club for youth ages five to 16 that centres around livestock, kicked off its summer initiatives by celebrating the work the members put in throughout the year, during the club’s annual Achievement Days on May 14. This year, the club launched the vet science small project. 

The Town of Irricana hosted its annual drive-in movie screenings and car show on May 14, attracting plenty of people out to the small rural community.

Irricana residents are encouraged to start up their classic cars and hit up Main Street for a show-and-shine and double-header drive-in event on May 14.

The five individuals who are seeking a seat on Town council in the May 17 byelection include Jim Bryson, Nathaniel Fleming, Stephanie Katelnikoff, Jeremie Page, and Julie Sim. 

Kids in Irricana spent their Saturday morning searching for Easter eggs outside at the community hall, with additional activities inside the hall including giant games of bean bag toss, Jenga, and snakes and ladders, as well as lego kits, tattoos, and a spring craft set up for kids.

“All members of council and staff involved in the review are encouraged to speak freely and without fear of reprisal,” stated a letter from Deanna Lennox of Strategic Steps, to Irricana Town council.

Irricana Town council confirmed the date for the upcoming byelection during their April 4 meeting.

In a Facebook post on the Town of Irricana's page on March 25, Friesen announced he and his husband are moving away from the town, which would render him ineligible for a position on council.

On April 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., BGC Airdrie Club and its Beiseker and Irricana branches will facilitate Super Mario Monday – a day in which the club's activities will centre around Mario, the popular video game character.
