Once again, a seniors’ living facility in Crossfield is selling a resident of the month calendar to liven spirits and raise money for charity, with only a quarter of the calendars left for sale.

Despite the considerable damage to West Bragg Creek’s trail system and ongoing clean-up efforts in the area, people have continued to flock to the popular multi-recreational area to hike, bike, cross-country ski, and snowshoe, according to Conrad Schiebel, president of Bragg Creek Trails (BCT) – the volunteer organization that builds and maintains the trail network.

According to a news post from RVC, the bylaw, which council passed earlier this year, requires property owners and occupants to clear snow and ice from public sidewalks adjacent to their property within 24 hours of a snowfall. The bylaw applies to sidewalks that were previously serviced by the County in Langdon, Harmony, Watermark, Cochrane Lake, and East Balzac.

During its regular meeting on Dec. 9, the Rocky View Schools (RVS) Board of Trustees heard the results of multiple feedback sessions held last month with parents and teachers regarding the government’s new Kindergarten to Grade 6 draft curriculum.

“Living in Chestermere, we have the lake sitting in our backyard,” said tournament organizer and chairman Alex Halat. “What a great opportunity to use it to market our community to the rest of western Canada, and [also provide] a little economic stimulus to our local businesses, who do benefit from the three or four days of the event.”

Harris said he is incredibly excited for the Mustangs musicians to showcase their talents in front of a live audience for the first time since George McDougall’s 2019 Christmas concert, adding the students have been preparing for the performances since September.
