I appreciate Canada Day so much more after living in the United States for a couple of years. I’ve never been a particularly patriotic person, so our national birthday didn’t have a whole lot of meaning for me.

Enough is enough. It’s time to regulate registration costs for minor hockey.

Colin died this week. He was 14 1/2 years old. It was sudden congestive heart failure, I think. He lived in New York City with his best buddy, Sean. He loved to go to the park and he really liked ice cream. All flavours of ice cream.

I’ve always wished I was musically-inclined. When I was a kid, I would close my eyes and listen to my favourite bands and picture myself on stage. I picked up a bass guitar at age 15 and practiced every day.

Re: City looking for new tenant for Town and Country Centre, article June 18 Dear Editor, I think it is important to set the record straight. The Columbus Society is a separate entity responsible for managing the Airdrie Town and Country Centre.

Well, another Father’s Day is on the horizon. Unlike birthdays, this special day designated to fathers around the world has a way of making me feel older.
