Greenhouse gas emissions strategy ' absolute folly'

Dear Editor, I believe it would be absolute folly for Canada to sign on to a greenhouse gas emissions-climate strategy mandated by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).

Dear Editor,

I believe it would be absolute folly for Canada to sign on to a greenhouse gas emissions-climate strategy mandated by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). A United Nations agency that in my opinion rivals the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) when it comes to corruption.

President Obama may sign on but my sources (I talked with several people in Washington, D.C.) indicate that both Congress and the United States Senate will veto any agreement with the United Nations on Greenhouse emissions targets.

It would be in Canada’s best interest if we reject the UN IPCC treaty but instead work with the United States, our largest trading partner, to develop a long-term North American energy and environmental strategy.

In closing, something that puzzles me is why the United Nations - IPCC never holds a “Global Warming” conference in Canada in the middle of our winter. My suggestion? Portage and Main in Winnipeg. Outside. Clothing optional.
