County council approved a revised terms of reference in preparation for the Chestermere and Rocky View Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP), March 5.

Council dropped its currently wastewater off-site levy bylaw in preparation for a cost-recovery structure, March 5. During the meeting, Stuart Jewison, operations manager for Rocky View, told council the current bylaw is outdated.

The Province approved 16 of the 20 portables Rocky View Schools (RVS) requested for the 2013/2014 school year. The announcement, made at the RVS board of trustees’ meeting, March 7, was met with excited delight by trustees.

Irricana Town council approved increased rates for the Irricana Lions Community Hall rentals during its meeting on March 4. The hall board hopes the rate increase of five per cent in the coming year will improve cost recovery to 65 per cent.

Operation costs for Rocky View County Fire Services are under review. Acting County Manager, Ted Gard said this needs to be done as the County waits for an arbitrator’s decision on a first contract with the County fire union.
