Cochrane RCMP stopped two impaired motorists in separate incidents on Highway 1 and Highway 1A on Aug. 17. At approximately 2:30 p.m., Cochrane RCMP received multiple complaints about a truck travelling west in the eastbound lanes of Highway 1.

Scheduled road maintenance in Rocky View County (RVC) is progressing despite delays due to the flooding of the Bow River last June. “It pushed maintenance back three or four weeks,” said Steve Hulsman, maintenance supervisor for RVC.

Rocky View County’s (RVC) ‘fight the bite’ program, which aims to monitor and control mosquito populations in the county, has been kept busy during its freshmen summer with June’s flooding and ongoing wet weather.
