An Airdrie man is in critical condition at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary after a single-vehicle rollover that occurred northbound on Highway 2 about half a kilometre south of the Yankee Valley Boulevard overpass on Aug. 17.

Airdrie RCMP is warning residents about fraudulent contractors going door-to-door offering to fix hail damage in the wake of the hailstorm which caused more than $25 million in damage that hit Airdrie on Aug. 7.

Acting on complaints they’ve received from residents the City of Airdrie has increased their security presence at the Chinook Winds Skate Park.

The hailstorms that ripped through Airdrie and area on Aug. 6 and 7, caused millions of dollars of damage as hail pounded homes and vehicles but the storm also took its toll on wildlife in the area.

In a 5-4 vote on July 29, Rocky View County (RVC) council approved third reading for the Emcor Business Park Conceptual Scheme, but the land use redesignation required to move forward with the project was defeated in a 4-4 vote.
