On June 15, Airdrie-based high-school students in Rocky View Schools’ (RVS) Building Futures program had the opportunity to showcase their work and celebrate a significant milestone at the same time.

Lawyer and partner Shawn Kraft, has taken the initiative of converting his office into a miniature art gallery, hosting an ever-changing collection of original works by talented Airdrie artists.

In a letter to the City, FrancoSud highlighted various possibilities that could be implemented, such as multi-purpose sports courts for basketball, volleyball, and indoor soccer; a fitness centre; yoga and dance studios; and a climbing wall or other adventure-based facilities.

Airdrie Special Olympics teamed up with Boston Pizza and the Law Enforcement Torch Run to hold a special encounter between local Special Olympians and patrons of the local restaurant franchise on June 14.

Airdrie's annual Pride Festival returned to Nose Creek Park on June 17. The day featured a solidarity walk, pride-flag raising, drag and music performances, a pride dog fashion show, and more.

“They’ve both put in hours upon hours of training and dedication, both physically and mentally, to prep for this event,” their coach said. “It’s just their dedication and wanting to succeed on a personal level. That’s how they got here.”
