Local groups banded together on Wednesday to raise awareness of the issue of drug poisonings and overdose deaths in the Airdrie region at a special Overdose Awareness Day event held at Nose Creek Regional Park.

Pottie added a celebration and open mic night event is slated for Sept. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. to acknowledge the efforts of all the poets who participated in the competition this year.
