An Airdrie woman has a new lease on life thanks to a life-changing operation in Mexico.

Andy stuffed the money back into his pocket and grinned. He had just enough to buy the gemstone. It was rough, dull grey and oblong in shape. And it fit perfectly into his closed fist.

A single dream, a world of hope.

Local jewelry designer Christine Taylor of HooDoo Designs has made it big. The local mother and businesswoman’s work will be featured at the 2010 Canadian Country Music Awards, Sept. 11 and 12. “This was beyond my wildest dreams,” said Taylor.

This is the second summer for the Irricana Community Garden which flourished under the care of its members. As there is no source of water at the garden, the Irricana Fire Department was kind enough to spray it as needed, which was appreciated.
