Zoom, zoom – Airdrie Public Library is once again hosting its Poetry in Motion contest, bringing locally-written poems all over Airdrie and into Calgary.

The gala, showcasing art from students at George McDougall, St. Martin de Porres, and Bert Church high schools, is open to the public between 7 and 9 p.m. and everyone is welcome to check out the local works and chat with the artists on site.

City Council officially decreed the Airdrie Water Tower a historical resource during a regular meeting on June 6.
