According to mayor Brown, City council and administration have been advocating for this change since the benefit was first introduced in March 2021.

“The response has been awesome. It’s really been one of the best parts of the trip – the support from friends and family,” he said. “People I haven’t talked to in years have reached out and shown their support, either through donations or giving me some kind words of support.”

With just three members on council right now – the minimum needed to meet quorum – the town needs to fill two council positions. There are three individuals vying for the positions.

“Looking at our kittens, we discovered there were a bunch that would be age-adoptable, and so we decided it might be a great idea to host our first ever Kitty Palooza event,” Ebeling said.
