The Grasslands of Beiseker subdivision project will officially open for sales on May 20.

The developer announced May 9 that River Street Homes Inc. will join Aquilla Homes Ltd. as the custom home builders in the community.

The Grasslands is in phase one of the project. For the first phase, there will be 71 single-family residential lots that will be open, with 17 being initially available.

Construction on the project has been ongoing since last year.

John O’Reilly is the founder and owner of River Street Homes, which he currently operates out of the neighbouring town of Irricana.

“River Street Homes recognizes the need for quality materials and design,” O’Reilly said in a press release. “We bring a commitment to an entry level specification, that would rarely require the consumer to upgrade.”

Curtis Colwill, the general manager of River Street Homes, said he was optimistic with the recent announcements.

“River Street Homes is delighted to be a part of this project,” Colwill said. “We are committed to the development, the people and the community of Beiseker.”

The lots are expected to have a starting price of $70,000. The all-inclusive home, lot and GST price is expected to start from the low $300,000.

Lot pricing includes an introductory limited time landscaping material package valued at $2,500. The available lots are also expected to come with included rear lot fencing.

A grand opening ribbon cutting celebration will be planned later this year when home construction begins. Two new showhomes are also currently being prepared for the site.

Beiseker Mayor Ray Cuurtman said the development will open a lot of doors in the village

“We’ve had a couple of business and groups interested in located here,” he said.

“They would like their employees to live here as well.

“With the development, we’re hopeful that some of these businesses will come back and have another look at Beiseker.”

Aquilla homes founder and owner Barry Nephin expressed his excitement for the project through a press release.

“It’s really a special thing to be part of the ground breaking of a new community,” Nephin said. “The Village of Beiseker is a vibrant community, primed for expansion.”

“We’re excited to be a part of it.”

“It’s a collaborative opportunity to ensure the best for the people of Beiseker,” Colwill said of the partnership with Aquilla Homes.

The home sites can be reserved starting at 10 a.m. on May 20 by contacting River Streets Homes Inc. and Aquilla Homes Ltd. directly.

Individual lot pricing will be announced shortly at www.thegrasslands.ca

Perspective purchasers can receive first notice of project updates with the registration system available through the website.
