Airdrie RCMP officers are looking for a man who robbed a liquor store on Yankee Valley Boulevard at approximately 10:30 p.m. Sept. 26.
According to Airdie RCMP Constable Jennifer Weedmark, a man entered the store, brandished a weapon and demanded cash from a store employee before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Weedmark declined to say at which liquor store the incident took place, what kind of weapon the suspect had or how many employees were inside the store at the time.
The suspect was described as a slim Caucasian man with blonde hair and a short beard.
Weedmark said no one was hurt during the incident. She advised workers to put safety first when faced with similar situations.
“Do whatever you can to remain safe in the situation. Comply with demands if that makes the situation safer,” Weedmark said. “Try not to aggravate the situation or worsen it. Remember that your life is more valuable than any piece of property that’s being asked for.”
