Rocky View County (RVC) council finalized adjustments to the County’s 2024 Operating and Capital base budget that includes a zero per cent tax increase at its April 26 meeting.
The zero per cent tax increase stems from the April 9 council meeting that revealed an eight times increase in tax revenue that exceeded initial projections, leaving RVC with an additional $9,206,900 in tax revenue alone.
RVC Division 3 Coun. and Reeve Crystal Kissel says that the budget finalization gives a chance for RVC citizens to face less financial strain, and an increase in infrastructure development for expanding communities is responsible for the zero per cent tax increase as well.
Council additionally moved $6,552,800 to tax stabilization reserves and increased water/wastewater utility rates by three per cent.
