A resident of the Stage Coach area of Sharp Hill south of Airdrie reported the theft of a boat, trailer and a quad from his driveway on April 22, according to Airdrie RCMP Media Liaison Constable Jason Curtis.
“ The gentleman last noticed (his belongings in the driveway) about 7:30 in the evening, spent the evening in his house, woke up and they were gone,” Curtis said. “ We made neighbourhood inquiries. There's no video surveillance so we're putting the information out there to warn people it's happening, and also if anyone has any information they can contact us.”
“ Unfortunately, the boat was on a trailer and the keys were in the boat,” he added.
The stolen items are a Yamaha Grizzly 700 quad, a Blue Bayliner 245 boat and an EZ Loader 7500 boat trailer, according to Curtis.
RCMP is asking for the public's help to identify the individuals responsible for stealing an undisclosed number of tires from Airdrie Tractorland on April 3.
“ Three male suspects in a white truck damaged the fence to get into the yard at approximately 9:13 p.m.,” Curtis said. “ They took the tires and left.”
According to Curtis, surveillance video was reviewed by RCMP. However, because the incident took place at night, clear video of three men could not be collected and descriptions of them cannot be provided by RCMP.
The video surveillance does show a white van, which Curtis described as an older model white Chevrolet with a black box cover.
RCMP is looking for help to determine who stole an ATM machine from the Pizza by the Slice restaurant in Crossfield on April 18. The theft took place at approximately 4:30 a.m., said Constable Curtis.
According to Curtis, an unknown number of suspects broke into the restaurant by damaging the back door, removed the ATM machine and left. A lack of video surveillance footage has hampered investigators' efforts to determine the number of suspects involved or to provide descriptions of those involved.
“ We're not sure, we don't have video surveillance or anything like that so it could be multiple people – it's very possible,” Curtis said. “ It's a very, very heavy machine. When they're stolen it's normally that someone yanks them out, loads them in the back of a truck and takes them to another location.”
Curtis said the remains of the machine are currently at the Municipal Police Building in Airdrie and it's in “ pretty, bad shape. It's all torn to pieces.”
The machine was recovered when a resident on Highway 2A north of Airdrie found it at the end of their driveway and called RCMP.
It's not certain how much money was stolen, said Curtis.
