Airdrie RCMP are investigating two separate cases of mischief and vandalism in the city. During the evening of July 15, RCMP responded to five complaints of smashed car windows, which had various items stolen out of them. The vehicle break-ins appear to be random in nature and all incidents took place in Airdrie’s Old Town community. Blood found at the scene is leading RCMP to believe a suspect may have cut himself or herself while attempting to reach through a window.

Police also responded to six similar calls on July 24. Multiple vehicles in Old Town had smashed windows and police believe these incidents are related.

On July 20 just before 6 p.m., three males entered the Airdrie Wal-Mart and headed toward the appliance section. A short time later the three men were seen leaving Wal-Mart with blenders and microwaves through an alternative exit. From there, they entered an idling white, older model Chevrolet Sierra minivan and drove away. All three suspects are said to be between 20 and 30 years old. The one male suspect is described as being 5’10” to six feet tall, Caucasian with a slight build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a black T-shirt, brown hoodie and beige khaki pants. The RCMP are looking for the assailants in connection to theft under $5,000.

If you have information on any unsolved crime, call your local RCMP detachment at 403-945-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
