On Saturday morning the Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to a welfare check called in for a resident in Irricana and upon arrival police noticed considerable smoke coming from inside the residence.
Additional Fire and EMS services arrived on scene and the fire was extinguished. An adult female was treated for smoke inhalation and admitted to the Calgary Foothills hospital for treatment.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown and the investigation continues.
