Airdrie U16 drop home playoff game to Okotoks, series tied 2-2

The Airdrie Lightning U16 Tier 1 team hosted Okotoks in the second round of league playoffs on March 16 at Ron Ebbesen. Fans packed the stands of the Ron Ebbesen arena for game three of the second round that saw Airdrie fall to Okotoks 5-1.

The Airdrie Lightning U16 Tier 1 team hosted the Okotoks Oilers in the final round of league playoffs on March 16 at Ron Ebbesen. 

Fans packed the stands of the Ron Ebbesen arena for game three of the second round that saw Airdrie fall to Okotoks 5-1. After keeping the game close through two periods, the Lightning let the score slip away after Okotoks added a couple of goals in the third period.

The Lightning would lose a nailbiting game 4 to the Oilers in Okotoks by a score of 5-4. The series, which has swung back and forth between the two teams, will conclude with a winner-take-all game 5 on Saturday, March 23 at Genesis Place in Airdrie. 

Puck drop will be 6:30.
