Propak donated just under $6,500 to Airdrie Meals On Wheels to support the organization’s work in the community.

“For the past 10 years, Propak has donated all the proceeds from ticket sales from our annual Christmas party to Meals On Wheels,” explained Jim Hanson, managing director of technical sales for Propak.

Hanson, who used to volunteer as a driver with Airdrie Meals On Wheels in high school, said he knows first-hand how important the organization, which provides nutritious, subsidized, daily meals delivered to those who cannot buy groceries or cook for themselves, is to those who use its services.

“Meals On Wheels is integral to the success of the community,” he stated. “I know there are people who rely on it for their daily meals.”

Airdrie Meals On Wheels president May Geddert was thankful to Propak for being such a dedicated corporate sponsor for so many years. Geddert said her organization counts on corporate donations like these to improve their operations and keep up with high costs; so they can deliver quality meals to clients as cheaply as possible.

“This money means a lot to us because all of our donations go toward subsidizing meals for those who need our service,” she said. “Those that can’t get out or cook for themselves, or somebody coming home from the hospital. All of these different needs.”
