A new book from Crossfield's Gary Poier intends to help financial advisors determine how to properly approach the retirement planning of their clients.

Crossfield author Gary Poier is hoping to help retirees unlock their full potential with his new book, 'Make Retiring Easy.'

With its focus on unlocking readers' full potential, the book promises to become an invaluable resource, guiding individuals through the adventure of retirement.

Poier has a wealth of experience in financial advisement and uses his expertise in that field to assist retirees in creating a fulfilling retirement plan. He provides a perspective on retirement that emphasizes personal growth and achieving one's aspirations during this newfound free time.

“I thought it was kind of unfortunate that people would put so much effort into saving for retirement, retire, and then kind of live a pretty average kind of life,” Poier said.

Having worked for many years in the financial industry, Poier said he’s encountered numerous clients who struggled to envision their lives after retirement. Motivated by their lack of direction, Poier embarked on a journey to educate and inspire others to avoid those uncertainties.

“I decided to think about how to teach people who are wanting to retire, live their life in the best way possible in retirement,” Poier said. “I spent over 26 years in the financial services industry and during that time I spoke to a lot of people about retirement planning and very few people – even those financially able to retire – could tell me what they wanted to do in retirement.”

Poier’s book enables retirees to identify their core values, interests, and aspirations. Through a series of exercises and introspection, his writing guides readers toward crafting a personalized vision for their best retirement life.

The culmination of this process is a unique retirement life plan, designed to serve as a road map to achieving their desired goals.

“Most people approach retirement planning from two perspectives, the financial perspective and the perspective of how their life is today,” Poier explained. “If you are a business owner or a professional and you spent the last 20 or 30 years focusing on your business or your profession, you really don’t know what else you want to do outside spending time with your family.”

In Poier's book, readers can discover 30 innovative ways to approach retirement that go beyond just their finances. The book explores different aspects of retirement and encourages retirees to identify their passions.

“It’s a more encompassing way to approach retirement planning,” Poier said. “It’s important to plan your life in retirement in the same way that is important to plan your finances.”

While "Make Retiring Easy" primarily targets financial advisors, accountants, estate planning lawyers, and wealth managers, Poier emphasizes that the book also holds significant value for a wider target audience.

“Anybody can read the book and really benefit from it,” he said. “I wrote the book in such a way that anybody can read it.”

“Make Retiring Easy,” is set to be released to the public in early July, accompanied by the launch of the book's dedicated website, makeretiringeasy.com.
