Thanks to rainy conditions, Rocky View County has lifted restrictions on fires within its boundaries.
"Due to improving conditions, RVC Fire Services has lifted its fire advisory," a Safe & Sound notification May 8 stated. "Effective immediately, there are no fire advisories or bans in the County, and permit burning is allowed."
RVC Fire Services reminds residents to always follow safe burning practices.
The County implemented a Fire Ban April 27 due to dry conditions. On May 6, the ban was downgraded to a Fire Advisory.
As of 9:30 a.m. May 8, restrictions on fires are still in effect in neighbouring municipalities – a fire ban implemented in Cochrane April 27 is still in force, while Airdrie is still under a fire restriction and Chestermere remains under a fire advisory.
