A new Area Structure Plan (ASP) may be in the works for the Glenmore Trail area, following a Rocky View County (RVC) council vote during its regular meeting Sept. 24.
“As we’ve seen, a lot of applications [are] coming forward in that area,” Area Coun. and Deputy Reeve Al Schule said. “There’s a lot of businesses operating and not conforming, and that whole area’s quite a mix up.”
In May, council requested administration bring back a report outlining feasibility options for a proposed Glenmore Trail ASP, located immediately east of the Janet ASP. A high-level estimate of the project puts the price tag at $290,000, according to planner Oksana Newmen.
Schule moved to direct administration to prepare a Terms of Reference for the ASP project, including budget considerations, and return to council within three months. Coun. Samanntha Wright offered a friendly amendment requesting administration also investigate the option of developer-funding for the project, and the motion was adopted unanimously.
