Rocky View County to see strong winds before evening snow on Monday

It's going to be a windy day in Rocky View County as the rain and snow moves in, with 10 centimetres or more expected before Tuesday, according to AccuWeather.

Irricana will see mostly cloudy skies, with sunny periods and a high of 17 C. Wind gusts of more than 40 kilometres per hour are expected, easing off to around 30 kilometres per hour into the evening. The overnight low could reach -4 C, which will feel like -13 C with the wind chill, and snow will begin to fall during the night – accumulating up to 10 centimetres before morning.

It will be a breezy day in Langdon, as well, with gusts of more than 45 kilometres per hour as the thermostat climbs to a high of 14 C. Snow may accumulate up to 10 centimetres throughout the night, as the temperature falls to -4 C (or -12 C, with the wind chill).

Periods of rain are likely in Cochrane, with cloudy cover and winds gusting more than 55 kilometres per hour. The daytime high is predicted to hit 13 C (which will feel like 8 C, with the wind chill) before dropping to an overnight low of -6 C (or -13 C, with the wind chill). Intermittent wet snow will fall throughout the night, accumulating up to 12 centimetres.

The Springbank area will see winds blowing up to 65 kilometres per hour, with some showers and mostly cloudy skies as the temperature reaches a high of 13 C (or 9 C, with the wind chill). Winds will slow to around 35 kilometres per hour overnight as the snow begins, with up to 12 centimetres expected as the temperature cools to -6 C (which will feel like -17 C with the wind chill).
