Carbon Monoxide alarms are early warning devise that alerts you and your family that carbon monoxide (CO) is present in your home. CO alarms should be on every level of a home and placed near sleeping areas.

On Oct. 18, ATCO met with Rocky View County Fire Services (RVCFS) to donate 60 carbon monoxide alarms for the fourth consecutive year. As RVCFS checks all CO and smoke alarms in a residence after responding to an alarm activation, these alarms can be used if crews find faulty or expired alarms when called to an emergency.

“RVCFS wants to ensure every residence is properly protected, and with ATCO’s generous donation, this aids us in making this happen,” a RVCFS release stated.

As part on Carbon Monoxide Awareness Mouth, which takes place throughout November, RVCFS is reminding residents that carbon monoxide is invisible, silent and odourless, and can be deadly; early detection is the key to ensuring you and your families are safe.

If you have any questions or would like to know if you are properly protected, call RVCFS at (403) 230-1401 to book an inspection, or learn more by visiting atco.com
