Cochrane's Mitford School will have a new principal in August, as Peter Fultz – current principal of École Edwards Elementary School in Airdrie – takes the role following an announcement by Rocky View Schools (RVS) May 16.

According to a press release, Fultz holds a master of education with a focus on leadership and school development from Acadia University, as well as two bachelor degrees – one in education from Memorial University, and one in the arts from Saint Mary's University.

Prior to joining RVS in 2016, Fultz worked as a teacher and administrator for 22 years in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nova Scotia and elsewhere in Alberta.

Fultz will be replaced at École Edwards Elementary by Nancy Dutchik, currently Mitford School's principal.
