CROSSFIELD, Alta — A man who served the Town of Crossfield for six years passed away July 10.
Former Crossfield mayor and town councilor Edward Murray passed away on Sunday from cancer at the age of 92.
He moved to Crossfield in 1955 and for a time worked as a farmer and the manager of the Rockyview Gas Co-op. Murray served on council and as mayor between 1989 and 1995.
People are invited to gather at the Crossfield Community Centre July 19 for a celebration of life.
The Town of Crossfield announced his death July 15 and that the flag at the community centre will be flown at half-mast until July 19.
