Construction worker struck by sedan at Highway 1A and Centre Ave. in Cochrane

"The investigation continues at this time with the driver of the sedan in police custody," the release stated, adding an update will be provided once the scene is clear.

Cochrane RCMP are currently on scene at a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a construction worker.

The collision occurred at 6:25 p.m. today in the intersection of Highway 1A and Centre Ave. in Cochrane, when a white sedan struck the flag person in the construction area.

"Emergency medical services along with the RCMP collision analyst are in attendance," stated a press release from the detachment.

"Highway 1A and Centre Avenue traffic have been disrupted in all directions. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes."

Cochrane RCMP are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashboard camera footage of the collision to contact the detachment. The press release did not disclose information on the health status of the construction worker who was struck by the sedan.
