UPDATE: The advisory was lifted at 7:09 p.m. July 16.
Residents in Chestermere, Dalroy and Dalemead are being warned, "Conditions will be favourable for the development of funnel clouds today."
At 11:40 a.m. July 16, Environment Canada released a weather advisory for areas and asked residents to continue to monitor alerts and forecasts.
"These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms," the release stated. "This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground; however, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado."
