Cochrane RCMP arrests three in drugs, weapon seizure

Cochrane RCMP arrested four individuals and seized multiple firearms and drugs at a residence in Morley, Alta. May 7.

According to a press release from the detachment, RCMP officers executed a search warrant, which rendered the seizure of more than a dozen rifles and handguns, as well as 63 grams of methamphetamine.

Carlyle Holloway of Morley has been charged with 58 different offences, including posession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, 55 charges for weapons offences and two charges for breaching conditions.

Holloway has been taken before a justice of the peace, according to the RCMP's statement, and is remanded for a court appearance on May 12 in Cochrane.

Three other individuals were involved, and are facing charges as well – Tommie Borris Holloway, also of Morley, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and four charges for weapons offences. He was taken before a justice of the peace and released on a $2,500 no-cash bail for a July 21 court appearance, in Cochrane.

"These arrests demonstrate the close relationship between firearms and the drug trade," said Cpl. Troy Savinkoff of the Cochrane RCMP. 

Two other individuals from Morley are facing additional charges and have been released, according to the press release.

Cochrane RCMP encourages the public to call police if they have information on people they suspect are trafficking in illegal drugs.
