A 16-year-old male student at Chestermere High School has been charged with one count of uttering threats, according to a Sept. 20 press release from Chestermere RCMP.
"On Sept. 19, RCMP began an investigation into an allegation of threats between two students at Chestermere High School," the release said.
According to the release, the school day was not impacted by an investigation of the allegation, which remains ongoing. Police resources remain on site at the school.
The charged youth was released from custody with conditions, and, according to RCMP, there is no threat to public safety. The school is operation as per normal.
"RCMP treats investigations such as these very seriously and will continue to take appropriate action to ensure public safety," the release said.
