Alberta Health Services (AHS) announced it is revisiting the Calgary Zone Healthcare Plan as a result of healthcare demand changes due to communities and the provinces growing and aging.

The development of this plan will require a zone-wide approach, reaching into the communities served by the zone to understand their unique perspectives and priorities, including Rocky View County and the City of Airdrie.

AHS has scheduled an engagement session for Rocky View County and Mountain View County in Didsbury on Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

A session in Airdrie has been scheduled on Jan 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In a press release on Oct. 27, AHS stated that an updated Calgary Zone Healthcare Plan will help shape the high-level strategic vision and direction for AHS’ Calgary Zone for the next five to 10 years.

This plan will be the guide for decision making and prioritization to provide quality, accessible and sustainable health services, the release said.

AHS called for participation from those who depend on health services.

"We want to hear about what matters to you and the people in our communities to help shape the future of healthcare in Calgary Zone," the release stated.
