$1.4 million raised and 262 hours played at Hockey Marathon

The Hockey Marathon for Kids began on April 5 and 40 players have participated in the 190 plus of continuous hockey that has been played at the Chestermere Rec Centre. The game ends on April 16, making the game 262 hours long.

It's official. The world's longest hockey game has finally concluded after 262 hours of consecutive playing time.  

43 players participated int he Hockey Marathon for Kids, which began at the Chestermere Rink on April 5 and ended April 16. A new world record for longest game was set at 262 hours and the initiative raised $1.4 million for the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation and a combined six thousand goals were scored over the 11 day hockey marathon by both teams.
