We thank all the Airdronians who raised their voices in opposition to the policy of giving preferential treatment to pass holders at Genesis Place.

Rocky View Schools has approved its 2011-12 budget. Four trustees said yes while Airdrie’s two representatives said no and one trustee was absent. The budget looked pretty stellar considering the pennies RVS has to work with.

We would like to commend all the individuals and community groups in Airdrie and the surrounding area for stepping up to help our neighbours to the north.

We commend resident Ken Thompson for coming forward to City council to suggest fire retardant requirements for houses in Airdrie.

We are happy to see Rocky View County council listening and responding to residents’ concerns. However, we don’t think it is wise to review the draft Airdrie annexation agreement.

We have sympathy for those staffers in City Hall tasked with the nearly impossible job of drafting the new Community Standards Bylaw. There is no proper way to legislate common sense, civic responsibility and what it means to be a good neighbour.
