Inspiring Airdrie

The world seems to be getting uglier by the day. In New Mexico, 11 children were recently taken into protective custody after they were found living in deplorable conditions with little food and water.

The world seems to be getting uglier by the day. In New Mexico, 11 children were recently taken into protective custody after they were found living in deplorable conditions with little food and water. The rescue came too late for one young child, whose remains were found Aug. 6. Almost-daily reports are coming out about Caucasian people calling the police on black people for doing something as simple as having a barbecue or waiting for friends in a coffee shop. Historically large wildfires are burning out of control in California, claiming nine lives so far. Environmental experts say the fires are made worse by what they are calling “explosive fuel conditions” which, they say, can only be explained by climate change. It can be a bit overwhelming for the most positive of us. With this in mind, we have decided to highlight the difference-makers in our community who are working to make the world just a little bit kinder. This week, we are profiling the Airdrie Angel program, and we will be featuring different individuals and organizations throughout the upcoming weeks. If you know of someone who you think is working to inspire Airdrie, please send us your suggestion at [email protected] A simple act of kindness can go a long way, and we hope these stories encourage you to help spread the kindness in our city. We may not change the world, but we can change what we project out into it.
