Our hearts are heavy with the loss of such an amazing man but you are rejoicing in heaven with our lord and saviour.
Roger is predeceased by his father William Harold Watters and his mother Dorothy Bernice Watters. He is survived by his loving wife Brenda, his stepson Gary(Amy) Hume his daughters Tanya Watters, Cherry(Jason) Bessey, Kim(Greg)Weber, Dallas(Jaydon) Franke and 7 grandchildren.
Roger was a farmer first and foremost but he had to earn a living so driving a truck is how he spent most days. Hauling milk from farms was not a job to Roger it was a pleasure, he enjoyed driving and visiting with anyone at the farms that was willing to visit. He especially loved when he had to go to hutterite colonies to pick up their milk. They treated him to delicious meals and great conversations and to this day we still have wonderful friends from the colonies. He spent 24 years hauling milk. His next job was hauling powdered cement for Tanas Concrete in Didsbury for 17 years. He enjoyed this job too as he still had time to visit with people while the truck was unloading.
His leisure time, when he found any was hopefully doing what he loved most and that was trail riding at YA HA Tinda Ranch. He had a love for horses and a love of being outdoors. His laugh was infectious and he would laugh so hard he would have tears in his eyes and have to remove his glasses to clear his eyes and still be laughing. He was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.
A very special thank you to his Doctors, cardiologist Dr Traboulsi at the Foothills Hospital, Tanis and the team at Cardiac Function Clinic his family doctor Dr. Syed Qadry. These amazing, caring people have helped Roger over more than 5 years to maintain a great quality of life. Thank you as well to EMS for their service and kind words during a very difficult time.
A celebration of life will be held at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church Hwy 580 and Range Road 30 Carstairs on October 14 at 1:00 pm.
