It was Sharon King’s first trip to a national martial arts tournament, but it was a successful one. King, who trains and competes with the East Side Tae Kwon-do Club in Beiseker, competed at the Canadian Championships in Saint-Hyacinth, Que.

It was a successful showing for the George McDougall track team at the Rocky View Sports Association (RVSA) track and field divisional meet, May 15. Sixty-five athletes participated from the school with 15 advancing to the zones.

The George McDougall Mustangs defeated the Chestermere Lakers High School football team 2-0 in a rain-soaked semi-final at Monklands Soccer Park in Airdrie, May 22.
