A 19-year-old male was arrested in Airdrie on July 25, after a traffic stop rendered the seizure of crack cocaine and a loaded semi-automatic pistol.
According to Airdrie RCMP, the traffic stop occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. at King's Heights Gate. The searching officer located the semi-automatic pistol, which had earlier been reported stolen, as well as an overcapacity magazine and 0.4 grams of crack cocaine.
A press release from the detachment states Kashif Khan Said, 19, is now facing multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a controlled substance, posession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon obtained by crime and unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon.
"Kashif Said has been released from custody on conditions and will be appearing in Airdrie Provincial Court on Sept. 2," the release stated.
