Rocky View Schools board of trustees approved the division’s Three Year Accountability Report, March 15.
On June 3, 2011, the board approved the 2011-2014 Three Year Plan entitled “The Power to Enrich.”
The 36-month plan was designed to reflect the division’s transformation into a modern, technologically-based organization and move the system from a level of awareness to a point of action.
The plan focuses on ensuring universal accessibility; focusing on personalized, authentic-based learning; building 21st Century competencies; and accelerating research and innovations. A number of the action items in the plan include: meeting individual learners’ needs, ensuring they have the resources and programs they need to succeed and leveraging emerging technologies.
“This is just the start,” said Superintendent Greg Bass, who presented the plan. “As we go forward, we are going to be able to build and reflect.”
The plan includes a number of pilot projects such as the use of iPad and iPod applications, e-readers, whiteboards and virtual classrooms.
