Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to a break and enter at the Harvest Lounge and Grill, located on Laut Avenue in Crossfield, on Dec. 28, 2015.

According to Airdrie RCMP Media Liaison Constable Francine Hennelly, RCMP responded to an alarm at the business at approximately 4:40 a.m.

“It appears at around 4:40 a.m., several suspects smashed through a glass window to gain access to the restaurant. Once they were inside, they stole a freestanding ATM machine,” Hennelly said.

The amount of money in the machine is not known to police, she added.

Two male suspects are sought by police. Both were wearing gloves, ski masks and hoodies.

“They were seen leaving in a pickup truck,” Hennelly said.

The business was previously broken into on Nov. 26, 2015, at 3:30 a.m., however, Hennelly said, “we do not believe these are related incidents.”

On that occasion, a lone male suspect smashed the front door to get inside and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. He was seen leaving the business as a passenger in a light-coloured four-door truck.

“There was someone in the driver’s seat of the vehicle that was used in that incident,” Hennelly said.

The suspect in the November 2015 incident is described by RCMP as heavy set and was wearing dark running shoes, jeans, a puffy jacket, a balaclava and dark gloves.

RCMP is not disclosing the amount of cash taken in that incident.

“The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency from the office area,” Hennelly said.

Snowmobile stolen

Hennelly said RCMP also responded to a break and enter at a residence in Crossfield Jan. 5.

An unknown suspect or suspects broke into a garage on Grey Avenue and stole a snowmobile. Hennelly said the theft occurred “sometime overnight.”

“The owner discovered (the snowmobile) missing and contacted police. It was a 911 call,” she said. “They broke through the lock on the side man door.”

The stolen snowmobile is a black 2011 Ski-Doo Summit 800 with yellow accents and white lettering. Hennelly said anyone with any information is asked to call the Airdrie RCMP at 403-945-7267.
