Airdrie RCMP is hoping someone will recognize a man alleged to have used a stolen credit card July 5 at the Mac’s convenience store on Summerfield Boulevard.
According to Airdrie RCMP Constable Curtis Peters, the credit cards were in a Guess wallet inside a purse which was stolen from Good Life Fitness in Tower Lane Centre early July 5.
“(The purse and wallet) were properly locked up in a locker and it looks like somebody stole them out of there,” Peters said. “She had her stuff secured properly – it wasn’t the fault of the victim by any means.”
Curtis said RCMP is hoping someone will recognize the thief and come forward with information.
The suspect is described as a man with very short, dark hair and a scar over his left eye. He was wearing a grey hoodie with the words Crooks No. 38 on the front.
Airdrie RCMP is also investigating an attempted theft from the Walmart store on Main Street June 5.
Curtis said a woman was seen taking several items and when confronted by loss prevention officers, dropped the items and fled the store in a stolen vehicle.
According to Curtis, the delay in getting information out about the attempted theft is because it may have a Calgary connection.
“The theft occurred in Airdrie in June and the vehicle that was used is believed to be related to another theft in Calgary,” he said. “That vehicle – a 2015 Ford Focus – has been recovered, in Calgary.”
The suspect is described as Caucasian, in her 20s with long brown hair and a cheek piercing.
