Police looking for man who committed indecent act

Airdrie RCMP is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a man who committed an indecent act at Airdrie Walmart on June 16.

At 1:15 p.m. on June 16, a member of the public reportedly witnessed a man performing an indecent act in the menswear department inside the store.

The citizen informed Walmart staff of the man, and the staff called the police.

When Airdrie RCMP arrived on scene, the man had left the store.

This is the second report of an indecent act on Walmart property in the last month.

On May 17, Airdrie RCMP responded to reports of a man committing an indecent act in the store’s parking lot.

According to RCMP, both incidents are being investigated.

“We’re not sure right now if these two incidents are linked or if it’s the same person,” said Cst. Jason Curtis with the Airdrie RCMP.

Surveillance cameras in the store captured images of the man suspected in the June 16 incident, though police are not able to publish them at this time.

“The cameras didn’t actually catch this suspect in the act, so we can’t publish his photo,” said Curtis.

The suspect is described as a man with dark skin, around 6’2” tall with medium length hair and was seen wearing a blue shirt and dark green dress pants.

If you have information on this or any unsolved crime, contact the Airdrie RCMP at 403-945-7200.
