Airdrie RCMP officers are looking for two suspects involved in a perfume theft at Shoppers Drug Mart on Market Street at approximately 7:45 p.m. Nov. 17.

“Two females walked in the store at separate times,” Airdrie RCMP Constable Jennifer Weedmark said. “One female put bottles of perfume in her bag and left the store without paying, however the two are believed to be associates and working together.”

Weedmark declined to say how much perfume was stolen.

She said officers believe the incident is related to a recent perfume theft at the same Shoppers Drug Mart where a man and woman were captured on video surveillance allegedly stealing more than $1,200 in perfume Nov. 9 and 10.

“We’re assuming they are the same people,” Weedmark said. “They had the same motive.”

Car seat clinic

Airdrie RCMP officers are partnering with Seat Savvy Inc. officials to put on a car seat inspection and installation clinic for Airdrie residents Nov. 26.

“We have a lot of concerned parents that come to us for direction on how to properly install a car seat or for confirmation that their car seat has been properly installed,” Weedmark said.

“We’re not experts so we decided to just facilitate this project for them to come and get it officially looked at.”

RCMP officers and community peace officers will be assisting child restraint systems technicians with the clinic from noon to 3:45 p.m. at Airdrie Towing and Recovery Logistics. Those interested are asked to sign up in advance at the Airdrie RCMP detachment.

The clinic is free of charge but participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items or unwrapped gift donations for the Airdrie Lioness Club’s Christmas Hamper Program.

Sunglasses stolen

Two pairs of sunglasses were stolen from Sunglass Hut at CrossIron Mills mall, located near Balzac, at approximately 6:15 p.m. Nov. 3.

According to Weedmark, a man and woman were captured on video surveillance allegedly stealing a pair of Versace sunglasses and a pair of Gucci sunglasses.

The male suspect is described as Causasian with a medium build and dark brown hair. He is believed to be in his 20s and was wearing a gray hooded sweater, beige khaki pants and black shoes.

The female suspect is described as Causasian with a medium build and long dark hair. She is also believed to be in her 20s and was wearing a dark leather jacket with a white shirt and black leggings.

Both suspects are more than five feet tall, according to Weedmark.
