A large-scale search near Beiseker revealed no clues as to the location of missing Calgary man Ryan Lane, but police say they will continue the search.
Over the May 13 weekend, members of the Calgary Police Service, Calgary Search and Rescue, K-9, HAWC and the Calgary Fire Department combed an area south of Highway 72 between range roads 263 and 265 in an attempt to locate the 24-year-old.
Police searched roads, fields and bodies of water but were unsuccessful in locating Lane.
The man, whom police suspect has met with foul play, was last seen in Calgary’s Country Hills area in the early morning hours of Feb. 7.
Lane is described as a 5’9” Caucasian man who is about 150 pounds with a slim build.
He has brown eyes and hair as well as a tattoo on his right upper arm.
Investigators are planning more searches in the area.
False Alarm
Police received a report that the body of a young female was found east of Calgary at around 6:30 p.m., May 11.
After a thorough search, the Strathmore RCMP, with the assistance of the Calgary Special Tactical Operations Team, found nothing.
No one in need of help was discovered.
The investigation was suspended as of May 12.
