Travellers are advised to expect delays on Highway 2 in the Innisfail area Wednesday as poor road conditions have resulted in numerous collisions.

At 6:49 a.m. on April 17, Innisfail RCMP issued a press release advising the public of poor road conditions on Highway 2, starting north of Innisfail and spreading to the south of Bowden.

"The roads are covered in ice and snow, resulting in multiple collisions and vehicles driving off the road. No injuries have been reported so far," police said.

Roads and highways around the province have since been noted as covered in ice and/or snow and are considered in poor condition. The most recent reports are highways 44 and 37 in the Westlock area
