Airdrie Rural RCMP, Airdrie Fire Department (AFD) and Alberta Health Services EMS responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 2 near CrossIron Mills mall on May 27.
The accident occurred at around 5 p.m. when a southbound passenger vehicle lost control and entered the centre median, colliding with the barrier and rolling over.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was treated for minor injuries by paramedics.
“Traffic was pretty heavy at the time of the incident so it doesn’t look like speed was a factor, and road conditions were dry,” said Cpl. Darrin Turnbull, Airdrie Integrated Traffic Unit (ITU).
At press time, the accident was still being investigated and the cause of the collision had not been released. As of press time RCMP has not released the name and age of the driver or whether charges will be laid.
