Thousands of dollars in damage was done to a residence under construction on Coopers Drive in Airdrie, after a SkyTrak Zoom Boom smashed into the garage on May 23.

Airdrie RCMP received a complaint of mischief after several witnesses saw the Zoom Boom driven by a male suspect crash into a garage attached to a home.

Following the incident, the suspect got in to a green older model minivan that was parked in a nearby alley. A second male suspect was driving the van and the two fled the area at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the zoom boom was described as wearing a black hat, black hoodie and blue jeans. He is believed to be Caucasian, in his 30s and has a dark beard and short hair.

The van was noted to be in poor condition and had tinted black windows.

Airdrie man dead

A 26-year-old Airdrie man died after falling from a moving vehicle in Nova Scotia on May 25.

Jonathan Brenton McIntyre, originally from Truro, N.S., was travelling northbound on Highway 2 in Alton from Stewiacke to Truro as a passenger with four friends.

Police said he tried to climb out of a window as the vehicle was moving to get onto the roof when he fell.

He was seriously injured at the time and transferred to the Halifax Infirmary where he succumbed to his injuries May 28.

Sgt. Alain LeBlanc, media relations for the N.S. RCMP office, said no charges are anticipated in the incident.

He couldn’t say how long LeBlanc had lived in Airdrie but confirmed he had identification listing the city as his place of residence. LeBlanc said he had been working here in Alberta.

According to his obituary, McIntyre was a construction technician.

McIntyre’s funeral was held in Nova Scotia on June 1.
