The life of Kevin Goodyear, a drama teacher at Bert Church High School, was remembered by family and friends at the Bert Church Theatre on April 6. Goodyear's family announced he passed away on March 12. 2024.
It was also announced that Goodyear's family will be creating a scholarship in his memory at Bert Church High School.
In a statement shared with parents and students, Bert Church assistant principal Rob Makkreel said the school was saddened and “shocked” by the news of Goodyear’s passing, and extra grief support would be available to students impacted by his death.
“We recognize that Kevin’s passing will impact our students, specifically those who have been taught by him,” said Makkreel. “Our student services and administrative team are available today and throughout the week for any student who needs some extra support. We will also have division support available.”
